Warrantyonyourmodelyear2000andlat-
ersmalloff-roadengine(SORE).InCalifor-
nia,newsmalloff-roadenginesmustbe
designed,builtandequippedtomeetthe
State'sstringentanti-smogstandards.
ElsewhereintheUnitedStates,newnon-
road,spark-ignitionenginescertifiedfor
modelyear1997andlatermustmeetsimi-
larstandardssetforthbytheU.S.EPA.
Searsmustwarranttheemissioncontrol
systemonyourenginefortheperiodsof
timelistedbelow,providedtherehasbeen
noabuse,neglectorimpropermainte-
nanceofyoursmalloff-roadengine.
Youremissioncontrolsystemincludes
partssuchasthecarburetor,aircleaner,
ignitionsystem,mufflerandcatalyticcon-
verter.Alsoincludedmaybeconnectors
andotheremissionrelatedassemblies.
Whereawarrantableconditionexists,
Searswillrepairyoursmalloff-roaden-
gineatnocosttoyouincludingdiagnosis,
partsandlabor.

Owner's Warranty Responsibilities
Asthesmalloff-roadengineowner,you
areresponsiblefortheperformanceof
therequiredmaintenancelistedinyour
OperatingandMaintenanceinstructions.
Searsrecommendsthatyouretainall
yourreceiptscoveringmaintenanceon
yoursmalloff-roadengine, butSears
cannotdenywarrantysolelyforthelack
ofreceiptsorforyourfailureto ensure the
performanceofallscheduledmainte-
nance.
Asthesmalloff-roadengineowner,you
shouldhoweverbeawarethatSearsmay
denyyouwarrantycoverageifyoursmall
off-roadengineoraparthasfaileddueto
abuse,neglect,impropermaintenanceor
unapprovedmodifications.
Youareresponsibleforpresentingyour
smalloff-roadenginetoanAuthorized
SearsServiceDealerassoonasaprob-
lemexists.Theundisputedwarrantyre-
pairsshouldbecompletedina
reasonableamountoftime,nottoexceed
30days.
